Introducing Mummy's Parenting Proverbs

You’ve heard of Confucius, right? Well. He’s that old – so old, in fact, he was alive in around 500BC...well, that’s if you believe Wikipedia, which I tend to do quite often – Chinese philosopher. And, as well as developing a system of philosophy known as Confucianism, he was also responsible for coming up with phrases like:

- Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it, and:
- Respect yourself and others will respect you, and even:
- Man who walks through airport door sideways, is going to Bangkok.

Well, actually, I doubt very much that the great Confucius was responsible for that last saying, but you get the picture, right?

So with that said, like the great Confucius, I have decided to come up with some phrases of my own; phrases which communicate some of my own (a regular, everyday parent with two young children) thoughts and beliefs. Phrases that will be posted on my new blog, titled: Mummy’s Parenting Proverbs. I am, like in my other blog (www.madmomentsofmotherhood.blogspot.com), planning to update my posts weekly. And I'm hoping to, in addition to my parenting proverbs, include some photographs of the particular occasion, when inspiration for each phrase posted, has occurred. Obviously, though, as I don’t always have a camera handy - and it’s not always possible to take a photo...particularly if I’m wrestling a pooey-bottomed child onto a change table - so I can’t guarantee the pictures will relate perfectly; but I’ll certainly do my best to try and ensure they do.

Anyway. I hope you enjoy reading my new blog (and please, if you have time, continue to catch up on all my mad moments of motherhood, too). If you have the time, I’d also love to hear your own thoughts and experiences. Thanks, again, for taking the time to read my stuff.

So without further ado, I'd now like to introduce phrase number one:
"Offering your child brightly coloured ice-cream for sweets, results in a blue-faced little man"
